Wigs are also often used by those who suffer from medical conditions such as cancer, but they are also worn by individuals who have undergone genetic hair loss because they are more affordable compared to the hair replacement system. The American Hair Loss Association says that about 40% of the cases they are women, (this includes approximately 90 million women) and more than 50% of the women’s hair loss is genetic.
In the modern era wigs are also being used for the sake of style. With a wig or a wig collection, a person has a choice of wearing a different style every day and they can choose between color, length and style (curly, wave or straight).
