Last weekend the two self-proclaimed best teams in the country met to duke it out under the setting Southern California sun. The devastating blowout left some people wondering what there was to look forward to this year in college football. If the end had already come. If the Hadron Collider had exploded, ending the world as we know it.

Don't fear, kids. We went ahead and planned out your next couple months. And since we're always big on tailgating beforehand, here is a run down of some of the biggest rivalry weekends yet to come with some of the best parties, served up with dates to boot. So hit the ATM, take out $80, and fill your gas tank. You have a couple big weekends ahead of you:

Oct 11 - Red River Shootout – Oklahoma/Texas

(Dallas, TX)
The Sooners and the Longhorns have been battling it out at this border war since before Oklahoma was inducted as a state. Played on neutral ground at the Cotton Bowl, expect warm weather, hot steaks, and cold beer in abundance. Plus – they always do it bigger in Texas.

Nov 1 – Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party – Florida/Georgia

(Jacksonville, FL)
Hailed as the mother-of-all tailgates, the game sells out every year as fans from both states flock to get trashed and talk mad shit. Mixing in the beach babes from UF with the southern belles of UGA, you really can't go wrong.

Nov 8 – The Holy War: Notre Dame/Boston College

(Chestnut Hill, MA)
Being the only two Catholic universities in Division-1 football, it isn't a surprise that their annual clash wouldn't be a fight of biblical proportions. So tip back that 'holy water' and rock out with the couple thousand Irish that show up to tailgate every game, regardless of where it's at.

Nov 22 – The Classic: Michigan/Ohio State

(Ann Arbor, MI)
The biggest rivalry every year matches the two Big Ten power houses against each other for an all out defensive grudge. The players of each team look forward to it all year, and so do their faithful.

Nov 22 – The Game: Harvard/Yale

(Cambridge, MA)
One of the oldest games in NCAA history, the battle of the Ivy's is perfect for those of you who want to party in a civilized manner. So button those collars and wipe your glasses, this is the only sports action you'll ever see on these campuses.

Nov 22 – The Rivalry: Lehigh/Lafeyette

(Easton, PA)
Who said rivalries had to stay in Division I? The small liberal arts schools of Lehigh and Lafeyette duke it out every year. And it isn't like either of these teams are fighting for a bowl berth, so strong hits and knockout punches are almost guaranteed.

Nov 29 – The Iron Bowl: Alabama/Auburn

(Tuscaloosa, AL)

Hailed as one of the most bitter rivalries in college athletics, the Iron Bowl has been the site of many a disagreement. Not to mention the largest being in 1907 when the teams refused to play each other again for 40 years until the Alabama legislature urged a reconciliation. Hate is in the air.

Nov 29 – The Border War: Missouri/Kansas

(Kansas City, MO)
While this game hasn't meant a lot in past couple seasons, last year it was huge in deciding the Jayhawk's bowl fate. This year, we should see much the same as the two Midwest schools showdown in Kansas City.

Dec 6 - Army Navy Game

(Philadelphia, PA)

Despite the fact that 1996 marked the first time since '63 that both teams entered the game with winning records, it is considered one of the most time honored traditions in college athletics. With most players not bound for the NFL, it is truly a bunch of guys just playing for the love of the game.

Dec 6 – USC/UCLA

(Los Angeles, CA)
The highly touted 'hometown rivalry' has been a Bruin bashing as the Heisman Factory of USC walked all over them. It is doubtful newly demoted-from-pros headcoach Rick Neuhiesel will switch it up this year, but fans will flock for pure bloodlust if nothing else.

Um.......isn't the Holy War the name for the BYU/Utah Rivalry? Seems like the writer for this story didn't do his research, besides that game should be good.

Also, why isn't UT v Mizzou on this list?

Let me guess. This guy is from Utah. Seems like the guy who commented on this story needs understand that the world doesn't revolve around the Mountain West. Is that even a real conference?

Haha actually I am a UT almnus. Hence the obligatory UT comment. I just don't see how the Holy War between Utah and BYU(two legit BCS contenders this year) is less important than BC v Notre Dame(Only one being a legit contender).

Chris -

Both games have been referred to as the "Holy War". Apologies for the confusion. As for the BYU/Utah drop, we tried to pick games that would incite tailgate explosions. Something about a showdown in Mormon land just didn't scream "party atmosphere" to us. Prove us wrong, John Smith. We'll need photographic evidence.

If that is the case, then by all means. Although that is without a question a better choice if tailgating is a necessity. But if so, USC/UCLA won't stack up, unless the Pac-10 can tailgate better than I saw at the Holiday Bowl. Although, maybe that was just ASU.
